ENGLAND (LONDON)
In 1998, John Rick Miller retired from corporate life and, in union with Father Fred De L’Orme, founded the Apostolate of St. Joseph, a Catholic Society established in various parts of the world with the aim of exalting the role of the family under the patronage of St. Joseph and St. Monica.
He also founded and was the director of the Confraternity of Our Lady at the Marian Shrine of London, the National Shrine of Our Lady of Willesden. The Confraternity, which ironically began on September 11, 2001, is an organization of the Catholic Church whose members pray daily for the protection and conversion of the city of London. Its president and patron is His Eminence, Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor, the tenth Archbishop Cardinal of Westminster and the then Primate of England.
The Mission sent a Relic Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe to be venerated by all the faithful of the Melkite Catholic Church of St. Barnabas in London. On Sunday, March 3, its parish priest, Father Shafiq Abouzayd, presided over a beautiful celebration to permanently enthrone the image in the church, so that, in his words: "She may bless and strengthen her disciples in Christ to fight against the modern ways of the world that go against God."
